The Drinkwell Premium Filters feature compartments which evenly distribute the charcoal for a longer lasting, deeper water filtration. A clean filter maximizes water filtration. This filter will work with the Drinkwell Orignal Fountain, the Rectangle Multi-Level Fountain, and the Big Dog Fountain models and should be changed every 2-4 weeks to maintain water freshness.
